Love is a beautiful thing.....

Winter is almost gone and the smell of spring hangs in the air waiting to bring forth new life.  Some of us dread the winter each year, because there are so many unfortunate people who have to tolerate the long and cold winter nights while living on the streets with no shelter, but each season has a purpose and brings forth new life and the hope of better things to come.  The wise words from the song of Bette Midler
 "The Rose" explains it so beautifully.
"Just remember in the winter far beneath the winter snow lies the seed that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes the rose".
God also speaks about the importance of seasons in the bible and in Ecclesiastes 3:11 He describes how beautiful God's works are from beginning to end.

"He has made every thing beautiful in His time: also he has set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God makes from the beginning to the end".

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

If I had to re-write "The Rose" I would replace only one word.....
... with God's love the spring becomes the rose.

His Love for us is far greater than the love we have for one another because His love is never ending, merciful and gracious.

Psalm 103:8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love

1 John 4:19  We love because God loved us first

1 John 4:19-21 Yes, we love him because he first loved us. If a man says, “I love God” and hates his brother, he is a liar. For if he does not love the brother before his eyes how can he love the one beyond his sight? And in any case it is his explicit command that the one who loves God must love his brother too.

Love is....

patient
kind
not boastful
not proud
not rude
not demanding of it's own way
not irritable
not keeping record of wrong
not rejoicing in injustice
rejoicing whenever truth wins out
never giving up
never losing faith
always hopeful
enduring through every circumstance

The bible says:
God is Love
and and I say:
Love is a Beautiful thing........

Love is a Beautiful thing, but sometimes we are just to blind to see it.....
