The Love i left behind

Proverbs 12:10

New King James Version (NKJV)
A righteous man regards the life of his animal,
But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Before humans die, they write their last will and testament, give their home and all they have to those they leave behind.  If, with my paws, I could do the same, this is what I’d ask…

To a poor and lonely stray I’d give my happy home; my bowl and cozy bed, soft pillow and all my toys; the lap, which I loved so much; the hand that stroked my fur; and the sweet voice that spoke my name.

I’d will to the sad, scared shelter dog and cat, the place I had in my human’s loving heart, of which there seemed no bounds.

So when I die, please do not say, “I will never have a pet again, for the loss and pain is more than I can stand”

Instead, go find an unloved dog or cat, one whose life has held no joy or hope, and give my place to him.

This is the only thing I can give….

The love I left behind.

A prayer in memory of someone we have lost....

Photo: Linda Rostoll
Outside the rain is falling and once again it's a promise of all God's love and His abundant blessings to us. While He cleanses the earth, He also feeds the ground, bringing forth new life!

Sometimes in our busy lives we forget to stop, reach out and love one another, and in the process we miss out on life, and how God intended it to be.  To love one another.

1 Peter 1:22
New International Version (NIV)

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart

It's been a difficult week for some of my family members who have lost a mother and a dear friend that they have loved and cherished for many years.  The shock and pain that they are currently going through has made me look closer to God's promises to us.

I have come to realize how the worldly things can blind us of what really matters.  We get up each morning, and rush to work, and for our efforts we will receive our salary at the end of the month, and so the cycle will continue day in and day out.

Matthew 6:24
King James Version (KJV)

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon
But God reminds us that there are more important things to remember when we serve Him.  It's so easy to stray in the wrong direction, forgetting our main path in life.
Sometimes we stray so far from God that we start believing we must have it all, and in the process we forget that we already DO have it all.  We only have to look inward, and see all God's treasures, and not outward at our worldly possessions.
To have family and friends is a true blessing because through God's strength we uplift, and love each other. Side by side we battle through the good and bad times.  Make memories that will last us a lifetime.  Memories that encourage us to embrace each and every day that God has given us.  We never loose hope because in God we trust, and we hold fast onto His promises.  To have eternal life if we believe in Him.
I pray that God will embrace each person who has lost someone through death and that He will surround you with His presence, and His love, so that you will realize how deep His love truly is for you.  I pray that He will guide you through the dark times ahead.  Give you strength to endure the pain of loss, and loneliness, but most of all I pray that you reach out to God, and allow Him to hold your hand, and lead you forward.

It might seem that death on earth is the end of everything, but we as followers of Christ hold fast onto God's promises.  We look up for guidance, bend forward in prayer, and we never loose hope.
Because after death lies eternal life......

John 5:24
New International Version (NIV)

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

We serve a Mighty, and loving God and I can only praise His wonderful Name for He never forsakes us.  He is with us in times of refuge, and in times of trouble, and He gives us eternal life.
Psalm 59:16
New International Version (NIV)
But I will sing of your strength,  in the morning I will sing of your love;
for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
In Memory of Maud
God created such a lot of beautiful things in life.
Sadly we tend to miss them sometimes.
I thank Him with all my heart that I didn’t miss out on having you as my
Best friend......

Oh how wonderful God's love is!

After a long cold winter He gives us summer in full bloom and all the blessings that the summer season brings.

We can spend warm  summer nights with family and friends next to a braai filling our lungs with the fresh air or we can have long lazy Sunday afternoons beside the pool just relaxing, soaking all the sunlight our bodies can endure.

Summer also brings rain of hope and growth and reminds us of God’s promises, especially when the first rains soak the earth leaving a smell of clean fresh air and then appears a rainbow full of color to demonstrate His promise to each one of us who believes in Him as their Savior.

Life is great when we can live each day praising God for His everlasting love and to have hope that one day we will have summer for forever.

Today I celebrated my 34th wedding anniversary even though my loving husband is no longer here to remember this day, I still have my two beautiful daughters to remind me of his love, a love that I will always treasure as a blessing, and I have hope that one day summer will be mine forever.

an enchanted place where colors are brighter,
the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again"
